Property & Records Management Division

This important division is home to the Property and Evidence Warehouse; Warrant and Identification Unit as well as the Data Reporting and Records Management Units. 
  
The Property and Evidence Warehouse staff is responsible for the in taking, processing and disposal of all property and evidence taken in by the police department.  Please call ahead if you need to pick up your property taken by the Fort Worth Police Department.  A release or court order may be needed before this can occur.   Their public hours of operation are from 7am to 6pm Monday thru Friday. The Identification Unit staff processes and confirms all class B and above warrants and protective orders;   conducts criminal background checks; handles arrest and fingerprint identifications, as well as  provides fingerprint services for citizens. The Data Reporting Unit staff takes police calls and reports over the phone, reviews and processes report statistics, and takes calls for private tow reporting.  The Senior Data Reporting staff reviews and reports the NIBRS (National Incident Based Reporting Statistics) on crime that occurs in the City of Fort Worth.  Staff in this unit can be reached at (817) 392-4179.

The Records Management Unit staff is responsible for maintaining, processing and releasing accident reports, offense reports and other public information requests for information.  Very soon they will be responsible for storage of all police department records.
